CHIEF OLABODE GEORGE AND THE BURDEN OF GUILT.

Dear Sir.

Your lawyer's letter which accused me of slander against your person made reference to two statements allegedly made by me.

The first : " Bode George asked that the process be postponed having seen that it is not likely to favour Dr Fawole whom he supported not minding the fact that people did not really know him"

The second: "Dr Pearse said the disruption was immediately after BG approached Senator Abiodun Olujimi who was at the TBS ground distributing the ballot papers to the delegates"

It is difficult to understand how these two benign statements amount to slander for which you demand an apology, or damages in the amount of 500,000,000 Naira.

However ,while I await my day in the Court of Law to which you are trying to drag me, it is pertinent that you answer these Five Point Allegations which I bring against you in the Court of Public Opinion.

1)FAILURE TO UNIFY THE PDP IN LAGOS STATE.

Disappointingly, you have operated as a factional leader. If you are not leading the Bode George Group Against the Maina Group, the Ogunkelu Group , the Obanikoro Group, or the Agbaje Group, you are leading the Markafi Group against the Modu Sheriff Group.

2) FAILURE TO PROMOTE FAIR , AND CREDIBLE INTER PARTY ELECTIONS.

At every Party Primaries, you use your influence as well as the Party's structure to give your preferred Candidates undue advantage.

You never try to appease the losers, consequently, mutual distrust is allowed to linger on till the general election. We usually go into elections fighting each other. And it is common knowledge that a divided house cannot stand .A recipe for failure.

3) FAILURE TO EMBRACE SUCCESSFUL PDP CANDIDATES.

For some strange reason you are always cold towards our Candidates after they have won election. You never offer them moral or logistical support.

As a result all 22 serving PDP Councilors in 2012 either left the Party, or lost their second term bid. In 2015 PDP had 8 members in the Lagos State House of Assembly. One by one they decamped to APC under your watch. Similarly , due to your animosity towards them, all 6 Lagos State Members of the House of Representatives in 2017 opted to support your rival thereby truncating your ambition to become PDP National Chairman.

4) FAILURE TO STAND FIRM WITH THE PARTY AND WITH LAGOSIANS.

In 2014 you swore that if Muhammadu Buhari won the Presidency you would go on exile. Buhari became President,, and not only did you not go on exile, but you became a Buhari advocate. PDP Stakeholders were in shock and disbelief. Our members felt betrayed.

In 2009, when a slot opened up for Lagos State indigene at Federal Housing Authority, you picked your wife who is not from Lagos.
In about 2012 another position opened up for Lagos State, this time on the Federal Population Commission, again
you recommended your wife instead of a bonafide Lagosian.

Your most recent act of nepotism against the interest of Lagosians is when you had your wife transferred to NDLEA . There, in Buhari's administration, she was treated like royalty. The general thinking at the time was that your felicity with the unpopular Buhari Government was to protect the interest of your spouse who had risen to the position of Director General in the Buhari Administration. Lagos PDP members were demoralized, perplexed and once again felt betrayed.

5) FAILURE TO WIN ELECTIONS.

As a consequence of the points above, you have been unable to lead Lagos PDP to any meaningful victories. You have failed in five consecutive elections 2003, 2007, 2011, 2015 and 2019 and as a result thousands of our members have left the Party.

In Conclusion, I make bold to say that after 5 failed Election Cycles ; that is 20 years of failed leadership, it is abundantly clear that you have no desire, or no strategy , or perhaps no capacity to lead Lagos State PDP to victory.!

With the state of disarray in the All Progressives Congress, (APC), our chances of winning major elections in 2023 are greater than ever before. But any attempt to hand pick Party Executives leading to 2023 will leave us divided and vulnerable to another defeat.!

We therefore appeal to you to desist from circulating a" Unity List" , or conducting any activity which may jeopardize the democratic process, or in any way influence delegates unduly at the Congress grounds.

It is imperative to allow all aspirants to campaign ,compete, and contest in their own capacity. Party Election Primaries is a contest among members of the same Political family. It should not be allowed to degenerate into civil war.

You and I are not getting any younger. Therefore, as we prepare our exit from active political life, let us be agents of change for progress and electoral victory. Let the commitment to the democratic principle of "Equal Opportunity for All "be the legacy we leave behind for the younger generation.

Yours Sincerely,

  3. This act of divisiveness by the Leaders of the party in Lagos State is causing the party slot.
We should close ranks as an indivisible committed members to map out new winning strategies for Lagos PDP , instead of this constant in-fighting.
