Firstly, the numbers 40,000 Lagos4 Lagos members showed up for the cross over rally at TBS on the 21st. And according to Jandor, 100,000 more exist on the group's data base. In addition there is the silent majority of disgruntled members of APC factions waiting to follow the Lagos4 Lagos example .These include the Ambode Group , the Salvador Group , and returning PDP groups such as Global Mandate. By the time it's all over, Lagos APC will be depleted beyond recognition.
Also, the fact that the Lagos4 Lagos members are essentially APC foot soldiers will have a significant impact on election day. These are the no nonsense party operatives who defend their votes passionately, and had delivered electoral victory for APC since 1999.
Without doubt, the movement of Jandor and his team has ignited Lagos. It has inspired people in and out of Politics ,and energized the PDP in Lagos and across the Nation.
If Lagos State PDP leaders respect the principles of democracy by allowing Party delegates to vote their conscience at a transparent election , the party will achieve unprecedented success in 2023.
It is instructive to note that the implosion within PDP at the National level in 2015 which paved the way for an APC victory in that election cycle is ominously similar to the implosion taking place in Lagos State APC today.
Under the circumstances, It is not unrealistic to predict that whoever wins the PDP Gubernatorial primaries will become the governor of Lagos State in 2023.
